A Distinguished Research Fellow, Professor of Materials Chemistry, and a Fellow of Trinity Hall at the University of Cambridge. Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), The Institute of Energy (UK), the International Association of Advanced Materials (Sweden), and the Institute of Materials, Mining and Metallurgy (UK).

Professor Kumar has published 400+ papers including 25+ patents and research in materials, minerals, and metals with innovations in sensors, batteries, fuel cells, electrolytic cells, and circular economy.  He is the Editor-in-Chief of (i) IOM3 journal, “Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy (Sage Publishing)”; and (ii) “Battery Materials (Pivot Sciences)”. Board Member of IOM3’s Minerals and Metal Technical Division. Advisory Board Member of Korea National Lithium Research Centre for the lithium battery supply chain.
